Niloofar Sarlati is a PhD candidate in the Department of Cultural Studies and Comparative Literature at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. She is a fellow at Paris Program in Critical Theory where she is completing her dissertation tentatively titled, Words of Exchange/Gifts of Words: The Surplus-Value of Politeness in British and Iranian Economies of Modernity.
